• Principles of "standards-based grading" in music
• Numerous checklists and rubrics for feedback and assessment
• A music-specific perspective in teacher evaluation.

We will also look ahead at the new Minnesota standards in music. What are the new standards? How do they compare to current Minnesota standards? What can you be thinking about?

The Reciprocal Teaching strategy is a powerful tool for you to bring back to your work! Reciprocal teaching is an advanced discussion technique that includes Predicting, Clarifying, Questioning and Summarizing (the Fab Four). This strategy is supported by the work of John Hattie and has an effect size of .72. It is also widely used in the AVID classroom. Effective use of Reciprocal Teaching includes skills in cooperative learning, metacognition, questioning strategies and discussion strategies. Spend the day studying and learning techniques to make this Fab Four work for your students.

• create a query of data matching user-defined criteria
• create a static list of students
• modify a query created by another user
• share queries
• use a data subset to generate a form letter from a template

Participants will also learn about the user-friendly reporting building tool called Data Viewer. This tool allows users to drag and drop Campus fields into a real-time view of the report while being built.

Description: Registration for the 2018-2019 season. Academic Decathlon is a national scholastic competition designed to stimulate intellectual growth and encourage greater respect for knowledge. The format includes students with A, B and C grade-point averages competing in ten curricular areas. Competitions range from local scrimmages to national contests.

Description: Join your peers for a day of professional development and learning at South Central Service Cooperative on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 9a-3p.
The morning session will cover Understanding the Impact of Trauma and Youth presented by Molly Norris and Mary Beth Patterson, both are School Social Workers.
• This session will provide information about experiences that may create trauma responses in children and adolescents, what behaviors and emotions could be presented in schools, an invitation to think differently about the kids we work with and to ask different questions. The audience will be provided different tools when working with students who have experienced trauma in their life.
o Learning Objectives:
? Review adverse childhood experiences survey, review resiliency survey and factors that promote how youth respond to different situations
? Become familiar with identifying trauma-related behaviors
? Discuss strategies that promote strong relationships with youth who have experienced trauma
The afternoon session will cover the following topics:
• Education as a disruptor: seeing students experience with poverty, mobility, and employment instability
• Wealth building
• Ending systems alignment and starting with rebuilding systems to advance opportunities for POC, AI, and other marginalized populations.

The afternoon session will be led by Sareen Dunleavy Keenan. Sareen is a Senior Project Manager with the Greater Twin Cities United Way. Sareen comes into the work at United Way with experience in all forms of education, and a particular focus on access and equity. Sareen has spent 20 years working and learning from individuals with disabilities as they determine what supports are needed in their next steps. An international educator, Sareen taught English and worked with communities on projects that they determined would increase their standard of living.
