Description: As part of the 125 clock hour requirement for license renewal, the Minnesota Legislature, by statute, requires ALL teachers to show evidence in the following six areas to renew a license.

These sessions are offered in one day and the times and areas are:

Description: This workshop will focus on building strong Title I, II, III and IV programs to increase student achievement. Focusing on the steps required for continuous improvement, this interactive training will lead to greater student achievement through strong program development. Using the 5-step process, a Pre K-12 Continuous Improvement Process, participants will strengthen their leadership team and current programming. Participants will also be introduced to best practice strategies and setting priorities. By the end of the day, initial planning for the 2019-20 school year and beyond will have taken place.
Comment: Recommended team attendees: principals, title program coordinators, title I/interventionists, classroom or other teachers, members of your leadership team. While business managers are welcome to attend, minimal TITLE application preparation and SERVS information will be included in this training.

Description: Conference Description:
IECMH is a multidisciplinary field that serves to enhance the development of all children by facilitation of strong early caregiver/child relationships and supporting developmental repair for older children who have had these early relationships challenged. Early relationships have a significant impact on a child’s educational and social future. Children with developmental disabilities possess a significantly higher risk for stressed primary caregiver/child relationships. Occupational and physical therapists working with infants, toddlers, and young children will have their practices enhanced by understanding the principles of IECMH and applying these principles to their daily therapeutic interventions with infants and toddlers in their homes and with older children in their educational environments.

Course attendees will enhance/develop their abilities to:
1) Understand early dyadic (parent/child) attachment relationships and the significance of attachment to the development of self- regulation as a basis for early learning with an emphasis on sensory-motor development.
2) Understand impacts of stress and trauma (with an emphasis on Neonatal Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) on the developing brain and recognize the impacts on motor development.
3) Understand the parental contributions to dyadic attachment relationships while exploring the impact of adult attachment styles, mental illness, domestic violence, substance abuse, developmental delays, and abuse/neglect on children with sensory-motor challenges.
4) Apply principles of IECMH to new and specific occupational and physical therapy treatment strategies to enhance early dyadic relationships, mitigate the effects of trauma and stress, and facilitate a more neuro-typical motoric developmental trajectory for children receiving Early Intervention and Special Education services.

Description: In this training, actions and resources are recommended to help educator teams* develop a shared understanding of the 2018 Minnesota physical education standards and benchmarks, and initiate the curriculum review process. By attending this training, participants will develop a shared understanding of the: 2018 Minnesota K-12 Physical Education Standards and Grade-Level Benchmarks, shifts that drove changes in the standards, knowledge, skills and rigor represented in the learning progressions in the benchmarks within and across grade levels, and curriculum review process and action planning as part of a continuous review cycle.

Description: The Reading Academy offers participants an opportunity to read from one of several lists of books (see link below) and comment (2-3 sentences) online about each book. Then participants come together on June 21 and share ideas and comments about their readings. In the afternoon there is instruction on a researched based strategy to enhance student learning.
